Celebrities Fly Private Jets to Climate Summit, Urge Public to Take the Bus
Guests arrived by private jet, helicopter, an oil rigs to discuss why poor people need to turn off the lights.

BREAKING NEWS: Huge step forward in the field of environmental awareness as a number of the world's wealthiest celebrities have launched a new campaign to get the public to save the planet. The campaign is called Save the World and is calling on people to recycle, take the bus, cut down on their water usage and stop buying things they don't need. The basic message is that each and every individual has a duty to do their bit to prevent the planet from going under.
The announcement was made at an exclusive climate awareness gala which drew together hundreds of celebrities, influencers and the like. People came in private jets, luxury SUVs, helicopters and even on riding oil rigs to discuss the absolute necessity of cutting carbon emissions. The organisers were very keen to stress that the event was environmentally sound in that all the invitations were digital and so the planet was spared the indignities of paper.
“We all have a responsibility to look after our planet,” said one celebrity as she got on a private jet to a holiday spot 15 minutes away by car. It's about making little sacrifices every day. I've personally started using a re-usable water bottle rather than the plastic ones.”
When asked whether flying privately in any way went against the campaign message, the Spokesperson was genuinely at a loss as to what the question was getting at. "Not at all. My jet is absolutely central to my lifestyle. I'm saving the world in all sorts of other little ways as it is."
The campaign has already produced a raft of practical recommendations for the public. People are being asked to turn off the lights when they leave a room, take shorter showers and unplug their electronics when not in use. Families are also being asked to reduce their use of air conditioning in the summer as temperatures continue to rise. Even though these recommendartions have already been said by countless organizations and basically nothing has changed, the celebrities are happy they are making a difference.
The faces in the front row of the campaign are all promising to carry on with their huge outdoor events which will involve massive exhaust displays, massive co2 dispensers and 195 different country's worth of food being flown in. One of the organisers was quite clear that these were absolutely essential as you simply couldn't get the message across about climate change without actually demonstrating what the problem is.
"We need to inspire people," she said. "We also need to be able to fund our own lifestyles which of course is far more important."
